Let’s Keep the Momentum Going
Since 1980, I’ve served the Town of Clarenville professionally and also volunteered with many groups and organizations. I served as a member of the Town Council for several years and was successfully elected as your mayor in September 2021.

Building on the success of the previous 5-year plan we implemented for our community, I have a clear understanding of both the strengths and challenges within our current environment and infrastructure. With well-defined goals in place, I’m prepared to take the necessary steps to ensure our town continues to grow, prosper, and thrive for years to come.

FIRST-Term Accomplishments

Under my leadership, all 7 campaign promise objectives have been met in my first term of office. Clarenville Town Hall returned it’s focus to several long-outstanding goals and our town’s true necessities, along with initiating several much-needed improvements for the community.

After 5 years of being a major inconvenience, Mayor John Pickett announces the opening of the Shoal Harbour Causeway in December 2023

To improve communications within our town, a new enriched communication platform to keep you safe and informed was installed. Welcome to Voyent Alert!

We established an Economic Development Committee and placed greater emphasis on promoting and developing new business opportunities as well as supporting current businesses.
